The “supply of eggs” was cut off from a village in order to curb antisocial behaviour.
A report into how emergency services dealt with the Halloween and Bonfire period reveals that police were scrambled to Denholme and discovered youths had been pelting cars with eggs from a local shop.
Officers and youth workers spoke to the shop and persuaded them to stop egg sales to young people over the period.
The report said the approach was a success.
