A pensioner has been awarded a top community prize for her voluntary work in Swinton, Greater Manchester.
85-year-old Vera Whitworth, known as the ‘eyes-and-ears’ of her community, received the award at a ceremony for local unsung heroes.
The award recognised her work for assisting residents in social housing for over 14 years.
