Parents in Yorkshire are the worst offenders for taking their children out of school for holidays during term-time.
Following a high court ruling today (6 April 2017) against Jon Platt, the ban on unauthorised holidays when children should be at school has been upheld.
It has been revealed that Yorkshire has the highest rates in the country for penalty notices handed out to parents for the year 2015 - 2016, amounting to 25,422 in total.
The amount of notices in Bradford, at 5,985, is three times higher than the national average.
