West Yorkshire Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman in Huddersfield on Thursday night.
Police were called to Fitzwilliam Street at around 6:12pm to reports of a woman being seriously injured.
Emergency services, including paramedics, were quickly deployed to the scene, but the 21-year-old was pronounced deceased.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Detectives are continuing their investigation following the death of a woman in Huddersfield last night.
“A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the incident. He remains in police custody at this time.
“This is believed to be a domestic-related incident.
“A police cordon was put in place in the area and will remain whilst officers continue with their enquiries.
“Local Neighbourhood Policing Teams will be conducting high visibility reassurance patrols in and around the area throughout today.”
