The husband of Mandy Gallear has been jailed for stabbing her to death during an argument in Wigan.
Stuart Gallear, 51 and from Wigan, was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court to life in prison and will serve a minimum of 17 years for murder.
The court heard how Gallear had returned to the family home in Hindley around 3.45pm on 6 October 2016 when he began arguing with Mandy.
They were both stood in the kitchen when Gallear grabbed the 42-year-old by the neck before pulling an 8in knife from the side and stabbing her three times in the chest.
Detective Inspector Lewis Hughes, from GMP's Major Incident Team, said: "We will never understand why Gallear decided to grab that knife and stab the mother of his children and the woman he was married to for some 20 years. He will now have to live with that guilt every day of his life. These are truly tragic circumstances and my thoughts remain with them and all those affected by this harrowing case."
