A man is in a critical condition after being punched in Manchester city centre over the weekend.
Shortly before 2.00am on Saturday 10 February police responded to reports of fighting outside the Printworks near Dantzic Street.
It is believed a large fight of around 15 people took place.
A man in his 50s tried to intervene and was punched in the face and knocked unconscious. He was taken to hospital with a serious head injury where he remains in a critical condition.
A second man, who is in his 20s, was also taken to hospital for bruising and cuts.
A 25-year-old man was arrested near to the scene on suspicion of affray and a 32-year-old woman has since been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They both have been released under investigation.
