A man has been charged with murder after a stabbing in Rochdale
35 year old Mohammad Shafiqul Alom, of Kellet Street, Rochdale, has been charged with the murder of 22-year-old Akbar Masood (pictured), who died on Friday.
Mr Alom, who has also been charged with a section 18 assault (GBH with intent) and possession of a controlled substance, will appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court today.
Police were first called to Kellet Street at about 4am on Friday to reports that a man had been stabbed.
Mr Masood was found with stab wounds to his abdomen and officers began CPR.
The man was taken to hospital where he sadly died a short time later.
