An inquest into the deaths of four men in a collision in Bradford has heard how they overtook two police cars before hitting a tree.
The four friends - Murtza Chaudhry, 21, Arbaaz Hussain, 21, Zeeshan Khalid, 20 and Tayyab Siddique, 22 - crashed on Toller Lane in Bradford on 2 August.
The car was being followed by officers after it overtook a marked and an unmarked police car.
A coroner’s official said the police vehicles were following in tandem only by coincidence, “as they happened to be travelling on the same road at the same time”.
The BMW was then pursued by the unmarked car before crashing into the tree.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
