Shortly before 7.40am on Tuesday 6 February police were called to Ansdell Street in Lower Crumpsall to reports that gun shots had been heard.
Local police attended supported by firearms officers and it was quickly established that a house and three cars belonging to local residents had been shot at.
An investigation has now been launched and the road was closed whilst officers searched the area. Extra police are also now patrolling the area.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Guns are never welcome on our streets… and we are doing all that we can to find those responsible.”
