Heroin worth £200,000 was found in a drug courier’s car when stopped by the police.
Bradford Crown Court heard how, on the evening of 21 May, Irfan Mahmood was travelling towards the M606 on Rooley Lane in Bradford when police stopped him.
His vehicle was searched by officers who found a bag which contained nearly four kilogrammes of heroin.
It is believed the drugs had a wholesale value of £120,000 but would have been worth £200,000 on the street.
Mahmood, 34 and from Rochdale in Lancashire, had previously been sentenced to a mandatory five year imprisonment for possessing a firearm in 2009.
He was sentenced in Bradford for six years and four months for possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
