Community leaders have spoken out after the Finsbury Park attack which took place in London last night.
At around 12.20am this morning, 19 June, a van was driven into worshippers outside of a mosque.
One man was announced dead at the scene and eight others were taken to hospital.
Ishtiaq Ahmed, from the Bradford Council for Mosques, condemned the attack: "The fact that innocent worshippers practicing their faith were attacked – firstly they are in our prayers and we stand by their families, friends and relatives.
"This was an act of terrorism. We welcome the fact that the police have declared it as an act of terrorism and we are also encouraged that the Prime Minister has convened a meeting of the Cobra committee, which indicates the government is also taking this incident very seriously."
