Bin collectors in Bradford have been issued with body cameras in a bid to ward of attacks.
Bradford Council said its employees had been punched and spat at and threatened with a baseball bat and knife.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby said she is “flabbergasted that people would behave in this way against staff who are just going about their work.”
Cameras have also been fitted to a number of bin lorries in an attempt to reduce the risk of fraudulent claims of accidents and incidents, as well as to improve safety.
