A Bangladeshi national who brutally broke a five year old boy’s thigh bone so badly that he looked like a car crash victim has been jailed for 15 years with a further three years on licence.
Bradford Crown Court heard that 39 year old Shipon Ahmed of Sawery Place, Little Horton, had claimed the child tripped over a toy. The court was also told that just days before he was due to stand trial for causing the child grievous bodily harm with intent he glassed a man in the face in a Bradford nightclub.
Ahmed, who was in the UK illegally, was charged with a second Section 18 wounding and found guilty of both offences in separate trials.
Shipon Ahmed was given an extended sentence of 18 years consisting of ten years for the offence against the little boy and five years to run consecutively for the section 18 wounding with a licence period extended to 3 years. Ahmed who also has previous convictions for benefit fraud, harassment, and battery on a former partner faces deportation.
