Chief executive of Sunrise Radio, Usha Parmar, wins lifetime achievement award at the Yorkshire Business Power Awards.
The glittering award ceremony held at Cedar Court hotel in Bradford on 13th July celebrated and honoured women from all different fields.
Recipient of Lifetime Achievement award, Usha Parmar began as a teacher and later became a high-earning project manager before transforming Sunrise Radio (Yorkshire) into a respected voice for the Asian community. Her leadership has earned national recognition and numerous awards. A tireless advocate for women’s rights, Asian youth, and social issues, Usha launched training initiatives and pioneered digital advancements.
She challenges cultural and gender barriers with vision, courage, and unwavering commitment, inspiring others through fearless leadership.
Sunrise Radio is a broad service providing music, information, news and entertainment aimed at the Asian community. Launched on 9th December 1989, broadcasting from its studios in Bradford city centre, Sunrise Radio has expanded its broadcast coverage area on FM, across Calderdale & Keighley (100.6FM) and on DAB to areas across the UK including East Lancashire and Milton Keynes.
