Rs 280 crore! That’s what Rajinikanth’s Kaala needs to become a HIT.
The mega-budget film produced by Rajinikanth’s son Dhanush has already earned Rs 230 before its theatrical release via satellite and music rights, says HT report. The gangster drama now needs another Rs 280 crore to become a commercial hit. Fortunately, the said business doesn’t include revenue from Karnataka from where Kaala is facing backlash due to Rajinikanth’s controversial comment on the Cauvery row.
While the petition was filed to stall the release of the film in Karnataka the Supreme Court rejected it and said, “You (the petitioner) want an injunction against the release of the movie. Everybody is waiting for the film to be released.” The report also says that if the Karnataka controversy hadn't affected the film, it would have earned Rs 300 crore before its release.
