Bollywood actress Nushrat Bharucha is happy that people liked her role in 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' because it was a big risk she took.
She says, "I have not only played light-hearted roles but many times I end up playing this annoying girl in films. Sweety was not annoying, she was classy yet cunning. And people feel that in real life too, she is annoying. But that's not true. I also did Love, Sex and Dhoka but Pyaar Ka Punchnama did so well that I was perceived as the annoying girl in films. I don't want to keep doing the same thing in films. My last film changed people's perceptions about me. The character was way different than what I had portrayed in films."
The actress also feels that a film should not be seen as heroine-oriented or hero-oriented. She adds, "It should be perceived as actor-oriented film rather than a hero or heroine oriented film." Bharucha debuted in 'Love Sex Aur Dhokha', directed by Dibakar Banerjee, and shot to prominence with 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' (2011). The film was the story of three bachelors who fall in love with three different girls. She gained popularity as ‘Babu’, Rajat's nickname for her in the film. The film became a sleeper hit of the year with newcomers in the lead. It has now achieved a cult status.
