Detectives in Bradford are appealing for witnesses following an incident on Midland Road yesterday evening (24/2).
The incident occurred around 9.10pm, where a silver Hyundai i30 was allegedly rammed by a Mitsubishi Shogun.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 24-year-old man and his male passenger ran off from the vehicle. The 24-year-old was then chased to Spring Gardens where he was assaulted with an unknown weapon. He was treated by paramedics for serious injuries and taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Scenes remain in place today at Midland Road and Spring Gardens whilst officers conduct their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Bickerdike of Bradford District CID said; "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around either Midland Road, or Spring Gardens around the time of the incident or who has any information to come forward.
"I believe this to be a targeted incident, and increased high visibility police patrols will be in the area to reassure the public.
"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what took place."

Four men, two aged 21 and two aged 27 have been arrested on suspicion of affray and remain in police custody.
