Newsroom Special - The condition of Britain's roads
Newsroom Specials
Thursday, 4 April 2019 - 4 minutes
The Annual Local Authority Road Maintenance (ALARM) survey has revealed the haves and have nots when it comes to regional spending on road investments.
Some local authorities received the equivalent of £90,000 per mile of their individual networks, while a third continue to struggle with reduced budgets, with several having less than £9,000 per mile to maintain their local roads.
To tell us more about the research we were joined by Michael Simms, director of the Asphalt Industry Alliance (AIA).
