World Triathlon to return to Leeds for third time in a row

The World Triathlon Series has confirmed that the competition will visit Leeds again for the third time in a row.

The tournament will take place on 9 and 10 June 2018.

Huge crowds of around 70,000 people took to the streets for the last race, cheering on home favourites, the Brownlee brothers.

Alistair took Gold in the blue riband event, with younger brother Jonny picking up Silver. It was the second successive year the siblings managed a one-two in the competition in Millennium Square.

Leeds joins an eclectic list of host cities including Bermuda, Abu Dhabi, Yokohama for the 2018 ITU World Triathlon Series.
