Boston Celtics’ new $128m fractured his ankle in a horror injury in their season opener.
Gordon Hayward collided with LeBron James in mid-air during the first quarter of a match against Cleveland Cavaliers. He landed awkwardly, with his left ankle turning at an angle.
The game was paused as both sets of players covered their faces and held each other, shaken by the 27-year-old’s fall.
The Cavaliers went on to win 102-99.
