Students end Dhaka road deaths protest

Students in the capital of Bangladesh have ended a three-day blockade set up in protest over a fatal road traffic collision.

Two students were killed on Sunday 29 July after a bus ploughed into a group of people on Dhaka’s Airport Road.

Several buses were vandalised with one set on fire as protesters took to the streets to demand safer roads in the city.

Police say the incident was caused by reckless driving and two bus drivers have been arrested.
