A top Bollywood director has denied allegations of sexual assault made against him by a colleague.
Rajkumar Hirani is the highest-profile figure to be named in what is being called India’s #Metoo movement.
The 56-year-old is accused by a woman, who has remained anonymous, of assaulting her multiple times during the post-production work of Hirani’s last film, Sanju.
It is understood she worked as an assistant.
Mr Hirani has denied the allegations in a statement released by his lawyer, claiming it is “a false malicious and mischievous story being spread with the sole intention of destroying [his] reputation”.
