The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, has resigned after a Supreme Court verdict ruled he was not fit for office.
The court decided to disqualify Sharif following an investigation into his family’s wealth after the Panama Papers leak.
The leak linked Sharif’s children to various offshore companies used to acquire foreign assets, such as flats in London.
Mr Sharif has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
The court has recommended anti-corruption cases against several individuals, including Mr Sharif, his daughter Maryam and her husband Safdar, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and others.
