The Indian army has accused Pakistani troops of mutilating the bodies of two Indian security personnel in Kashmir.
Indians have taken to social media to demand revenge, piling pressure on Prime Minister Modi to take action. He is yet to appoint a full-time defence minister after the position was vacated.
It is reported that the deaths came from a clash yesterday, 1 May, on the Line of Control. The Pakistani army denies claims that bodies were then further mutilated. In a statement it said its army "was a highly professional force" and it would "never disrespect a soldier, even Indian".
