Pakistan extends airspace closure on India border

Pakistan has extended an airspace closure along its eastern border with India.

A notice issued by the Civil Aviation Authority said the closure will now remain in force until 15 June.

Foreign carriers using Indian airspace have been forced to take costly detours because they cannot fly over Pakistan.

It has been more than two and a half months since the airspace was closed for commercial flights and there has been no progress in lifting the ban from either Pakistan or India.
