Nine leaders of a banned political party in Bangladesh have been arrested.
Ameer Maqbul Ahmed of Jamaat-e-Islami, a party which was made illegal in Bangladesh in 2013, along with eight other top leaders were detained in Dhaka on Monday night, 9 October.
Local reports claim they were arrested in connection with causing civil unrest and plotting against the government.
