Missing Karachi schoolboy claimed to be murdered by gangsters

Police in Karachi claim a missing schoolboy died at the hands of gangsters based in the Lyari Town area of the city.

Yasin, a class-nine student, was kidnapped in 2016 and has been on the missing persons register since.

In new developments, a paramilitary force conducted raids and arrested one suspect identified as Asadullah.

Authorities say he has admitted to taking the boy and later handing him over to a gang. The paramilitary force used the information to arrest two further suspects, who confessed to killing and burying Yasin.

The body has been exhumed and formally identified.

The arrested suspects were handed over to the police for further legal action.
