The exit polls for India’s mammoth general election predict a win and second term for incumbent prime minister, Narendra Modi.
A slew of exit polls released on Sunday forecast big wins for Modi’s BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The highest poll prediction for the NDA is 365 seats, and the lowest is 242.
Any party or coalition needs at least 272 seats to secure a majority in parliament and form a government.
Voting finished yesterday (19 May) and results due on 23 May.
Opposition leaders have dismissed the exit polls, with many pointing out how they have been wrong in the past.
