A choreographer in Hyderabad who was arrested for raping a girl may have sexually exploited other women.
Preeth Shergill was arrested in connection to the gang rape of a student. Three days after his arrest police have said new evidence has come to light, indicating that he may have taken advantage of several other women.
On 28 April, police arrested 39-year-old Preeth Shergill and his driver Sultan on the basis of an e-mail statement from the victim, which detailed how Shergill gave her coffee laced with sedatives and then raped her on 15 April. She was then subject to further sexual abuse over the following days from accomplices of the choreographer.
It is believed the victim escaped by writing her family’s phone number on toilet paper and throwing it over the neighbour’s wall.
Following his arrest, the police extracted deleted videos from the suspect’s phone, which allegedly depict Shergill committing illegal activities with other women.
