Former Pakistan senator disqualified from election over fake degree

A former senator in Pakistan has been disqualified from running in upcoming elections over a fake degree.

The Supreme Court in Islamabad declared Yasmeen Shah’s qualification as counterfeit, upholding a decision from the Election Commission of Pakistan to bar her from contesting in the upcoming general polls.

The commission said Shah had submitted a fake Bachelor of Arts degree at the time she was elected senator in 2003.
