A former information minister for the Sindh region of Pakistan was arrested in a high-profile corruption case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) took Sharjeel Inam Memon into custody yesterday, 23 October, after his bail plea was rejected by the Sindh High Court.
It is alleged that Memon awarded advertisements for awareness campaigns for exorbitant rates and at a loss to the national exchequer.
He is also facing another trial in connection with the illegal consolidation of hundreds of acres of land in favour of a private housing project.
