Five killed in India bar fire

At least five people were killed in a fire at a bar in India.

The fire broke out at Kailash Bar in the southern city of Bangalore in the early hours of this morning, 8 January, India time.

All of those killed are believed to have been employees of the bar, who were sleeping at the premises overnight.

An investigation has been launched to ascertain if there was any lapse in fire safety measures.

The incident comes after two different building fires killed 19 people in Mumbai in the past two weeks.
