Eight suspected terrorists were killed in an encounter in Karachi.
In an operation coordinated by the city’s Rangers and the Counter-Terrorism Department, security personnel entered the Raees Goth area after receiving intelligence about the presence of Ansarul Sharia Pakistan militants.
In a statement from the Rangers it is claimed heavy gunfire was exchanged. They state that the chief and alleged mastermind behind the terrorist group, Dr Abdullah Hashmi, is one of the deceased.
