A 21 year old Bradford man who was convicted in his absence by a jury of drug dealing whilst he hid away in a hotel with a stash of heroin and crack cocaine has been jailed for seven years.
Bradford Crown Court heard that two weeks after Umbar Hussain, of Hedge Way, Allerton, Bradford, was convicted in his absence of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of cash as criminal property he was arrested at a Bradford hotel.
Hussain has now been sentenced for those original offences, along with additional charges from his arrest at the hotel of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and possession of criminal property.
The court was told that Hussain had been in breach of an eight month sentence of detention, suspended for two years, for dangerous driving imposed at the crown court in February, 2014.
Hussain was jailed for a total of seven years; six and a half years for the drugs and possession of criminal property offences and six months of the suspended sentence for dangerous driving was activated by the Judge.
