World’s seventh fastest man to switch allegiance to Britain

Miguel Francis, the world’s seventh fastest man at 200m, has switched allegiance to Great Britain from Antigua and Barbuda.

The 22-year-old sprinter is a training partner of Usain Bolt and clocked a personal best of 19.88 seconds in Jamaica in June 2016.

Francis was born in the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat, so is eligible to compete for Team GB. He began the process in August, before the Olympic Games, and is now able to compete in his new colours.
