Vuelta a Espana team bus destroyed in arson attack

The bus of a cycling team participating in la Vuelta a Espana has been destroyed in a suspected arson attack.

The Irish team Aqua Blue Sport had left their bus parked outside their hotel in Almeria as they slept.

They woke to find the vehicle gutted and blackened from the effects of fire.

A photo tweeted by the team appears to show a burnt-out mattress underneath the bus. They claim a man has been arrested.

Race organisers provided replacement transport for Thursday's 160.1km ride from Motril to Antequera.
