Maria Sharapova wins first title since comeback

    Maria Sharapova has won her first title since May 2015.

    The former world number one beat Aryna Sabalenka 7-5 7-6 (10-8) in the Tianjin Open final.

    It is the first competition the 30-year-old Russian has won since returning after serving a 15-month drugs ban.

    Sharapova began the week ranked 86th in the world and received a wildcard for the event in China.

    It is the five-time Grand Slam winner's 36th WTA tournament victory.
