34 year old Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe who last played for England in 2013 has been recalled to the England squad.
Defoe has been in outstanding form this season with 14 Premier League goals and with takes advantage of an opportunity given to him to play as both Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney have suffered injuries.
Defoe but will be in the squad for the friendly against Germany in Dortmund on 22nd March and the World Cup qualifier against Lithuania at Wembley on 26th March.
