Holders Man Utd to host Burton Albion in EFL Cup

The holders of the EFL Cup, Manchester United, are to host Burton Albion, following a draw in China that was not without controversy.

The third-round draw took place in Beijing, at 4.15am UK time. Previous draws for the newly-named Carabao Cup were slated on social media, as fans complained of no sound being broadcast and teams being drawn twice, with some more confusion over home and away ties.

The latest draw started late and once it got going there was no live coverage. Bleary-eyed fans were told they could follow updates on Twitter.

    All ties drawn:

West Bromwich Albion v Manchester City

    Everton v Sunderland

    Leicester City v Liverpool

    Manchester United v Burton Albion

    Brentford v Norwich City

    Wolverhampton Wanderers v Bristol Rovers

    Burnley v Leeds

    Arsenal v Doncaster Rovers

    Bristol City v Stoke City

    Reading v Swansea City

    Aston Villa v Middlesbrough

    Chelsea v Nottingham Forest

West Ham United v Bolton Wanderers

    Crystal Palace v Huddersfield Town

    Tottenham Hotspur v Barnsley/Derby County

Bournemouth v Brighton and Hove Albion

The fixtures will be played in the week commencing 18 September.
