Facebook makes football deal for subcontinent

    Facebook has secured a deal meaning that La Liga will only be able to be watched via the platform on the Indian subcontinent.

    The deal includes very La Liga game for the next three seasons and affects viewers in India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, The Maldives, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The rights were previously held by Sony Pictures Network.

    The fee has not yet been disclosed though the last time the rights were up for sale, in 2014, they were bought for an estimated $32m.
