The inclusion of “grid girls” in Formula 1 is to be reviewed by the sport’s new bosses.
The use of models, who surround cars on race day holding umbrellas and perform promotional tasks, is being scrutinised to ascertain whether the practice is justifiable with changing social attitudes.
Ross Brawn, F1 managing director of motorsports, spoke on BBC Radio 5 Live: "We're trying to respect all parties. There's a lot of people respect the tradition of the grid girls and there's people who feel that it has become a bit dated, so we're addressing that."
