England cruise to victory in Women’s Rugby League World Cup opener

    England secured a comprehensive victory in their first game in the Women’s Rugby League World Cup.

    They beat Papua New Guinea 36-8 on the opening day of the tournament in Sydney.

    The Lionesses scored seven tries, with Bradford winger Charlotte Booth crossing twice.

    England take on reigning champions Australia in the next round of fixtures, on 19 November.
