Carlisle United striker first to receive FA simulation charge

Shaun Miller has become the first player to be charged by the Football Association with simulation.

The 30-year-old Carlisle United striker is charged with "successful deception of a match official", after an alleged "clear act of simulation" against Wycombe on Tuesday, 17 October.

The new simulation laws, introduced in May, refers incidents which may have deceived match officials to a panel, which reviews all available video footage to arrive at a decision.

Should the charge be accepted or proven, Miller would face a two-match suspension.

He has until 6.00pm on Thursday, 19 October to appeal.
