Ben Stokes has been called up to England’s one-day squad for the five-match series against Australia.
The series will take place in the new year, though it is still unlikely whether he and team mate Alex Hales will be chosen to play.
Both men were suspended from selection by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), following an incident outside a Bristol nightclub in September.
It has been confirmed that Hales, 28, will face no criminal prosecution but may still be subject to disciplinary proceedings by the ECB.
Stokes, 26, who was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, remains unavailable for selection until the Crown Prosecution Service decides whether to charge him.
