Atletico Madrid beat Real to lift Super Cup

Atletico Madrid beat bitter rivals Real to win the Super Cup.

The game, a match up between last season’s Champions League winners and the Europa League champions, ended 2-2 in normal time.

Two late goals during extra time from Koke and Saul sealed victory for Atletico, in Real Madrid’s first game without Cristiano Ronaldo and former manager Zinedine Zidane.

Ronaldo signed for Juventus for £99m in the summer and Zidane was replaced as manager by former Spain coach Julen Lopetegui.

The victory was Europa League holders Atletico’s third Super Cup win in as many appearances.
