Al-Hilal win Asian Champions League and complete Club World Cup roster

The Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal beat Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds 2-0 at Saitama Stadium in the Asian Champions League final second leg, to win the tie 3-0 and lift the title for a record-equaling third time

Following Al-Hilal's victory on Sunday, and Flamengo's 2-1 triumph over River Plate in the Copa Libertadores final on Saturday, the selection of clubs who will compete for the Club World Cup in Doha, Qatar, in December has been decided.

Reigning Qatari champions Al-Sadd - managed by former Barcelona star Xavi - will face New Caledionan side, Hienghene Sport in Match one of the competition after they became only the second non-Australian team to win the Oceania Champions League by beating fellow New Caledonian side A.S Magenta 1-0 in the final.

The winner of the tie between Al-Sadd and Hienghene Sport will progress to the second round, where they will face the winners of the CONCACAF Champions League Monterrey, who qualified by beating fellow Mexican outfit Tigres UANL 2-1 over two legs.

Meanwhile, in the other second round fixture, Al-Hilal will face Tunisian side, Esperance de Tunis after they were declared winners of the two-legged African Champions League final against Wydad Casablanca after the Moroccan side refused to resume play in the second leg of the tie, due to a dispute with VAR.

Liverpool - the winners of the European Champions League, after beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the final - will enter the competition at the semi-final stage and play the winner of the second round fixture between Monterrey and Al-Sadd or Hienghene Sport.

Meanwhile, in the second Semi-final tie, Copa Libertadores winners Flamengo will play the winner of the match between Al-Hilal and Esperance de Tunis.

The final of the competition - as well as the third place play-off - will be played on 21 December, with the competition set to have a non-Spanish winner for the first time since Bayern Munich lifted the trophy in 2013.
