Faiza Mujahid lends her voice for Bollywood film Pink.

She has based her career on songs about women liberation from society's patriarchal pressures.

Pink starring Amitabh Bachchan is set for release – the film’s music has already taken over social media and seems to be doing fairly well. And it turns out, Pakistani singer Faiza Mujahid (who is also a female rights activist) is lending her vocals to the album too! The singer-songwriter’s track Jeenay de Mujhe is finally out in the open and here, she tells HIP all about how it got selected for this film.

Ronnie Lahiri, one of the two producers of the film, contacted her in 2012 for her song “Meri Zindagi” and that’s when it all started.

"He heard it and wanted it for a film of his but that didn’t materialise.”
