Police are appealing for information after a woman’s car was stolen in Oldham.
At around 12.10am on Wednesday 15 February 2017, police were called to reports of a robbery on Rock Street. The victim was getting into her car after work when she was approached by a man thought to be carrying a suspected gun.
He demanded the woman’s handbag and phone then went on to threaten her, forcing her to leave the black BMW 3 Series. The woman did as the offender asked and the man stole the car, driving it away. It was later recovered from Kirkstone Close in Oldham.
Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries and arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of robbery.
Detective Constable Madaleine Atherton of GMP’s Oldham borough, said: “I am hoping the public can help us identify the man who scared and intimidated an innocent woman, before taking her car. If you saw anything suspicious happening at the time of the robbery, or have any information about it, then please get in touch.”
