A national report released today (3 September) has revealed that West Yorkshire councils are investing £513 million in fracking companies through their management of the West Yorkshire Pension Fund.
The data has been released by 350.org, Platform and Friends of the Earth – and ranks council-run pension funds by their investments in companies involved in fracking.
Fossil Free West Yorkshire said numerous councils have voted against fracking development in their areas, but council-run funds remain invested in the industry.
