Officers are investigating the assault of a dog in Oldham.
At around 10.25am, on Monday 1 May 2017, a report was made to police after a video of a man assaulting a dog in the Oldham area had been circulated on social media.
This morning, Tuesday 2 May 2017, a 35-year-old man presented himself at a police station and has been arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
A police spokesperson said the man in custody will be questioned today and that “whether against a human or animal, violence is never the answer.”
